Class IV Laser Therapy
If you have chronic or acute pain that hasn’t responded to other therapies, we recommend you consider class IV laser therapy. This type of treatment is drug-free and non-invasive.
How Does It Work?
During each session, infrared laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level. The increased metabolic activity within the cell promotes the transport of nutrients across the cell membrane. The result: it speeds up and enhances the body’s natural process of healing at the cellular level.
Class IV Laser therapy also can improve circulation, decrease pain and reduce inflammation.
- Ankle and foot pain
- Back pain
- Chronic illness
- Headaches
- Hip pain
- Knee pain
- Neck pain
- Sciatica
- Frozen shoulder
- Tendonitis
- Carpal tunnel
Each Laser session, which typically takes 3-5 minutes, uses infrared wavelengths of laser light to stimulate a photochemical response and therapeutic result.
Will I have to lie down for treatment?
While some patients have their treatment lying down, others may choose to sit up during the session.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your particular condition. If you have an acute condition, 4 to 6 sessions may be all that is needed. However, if you have a chronic condition, you will likely need 6 to 12 (or more) sessions. If you have severe arthritis, for example, you may require ongoing periodic care to manage pain.
How often will I need to be treated?
Acute conditions may be treated on a daily basis, particularly if they are accompanied by severe pain. More chronic issues respond better when treatments are given 2 to 3 times a week, decreasing to once a week or once every other week.
How long before I experience results?
You may feel some pain relief, for example, after just one session. Sometimes, however, you won’t experience any improvement until after several treatments. Each session is cumulative, and you will likely feel some improvement after 3 or 4 visits.
